It was a bright, boring afternoon on the day of 24th April 2009, when Abhinav took one of his first pictures. It was the designer base of a glass tumbler taken from the top, seeing which his brother suggested that he could look into photography.

In less than 6 months, after frequenting most nearby North-Indian cities, he left for a cross-country trip with his camera and came back with thousands of raw images.

It was in 2011 when he attended the Delhi Photo Festival where he first came across the works of Raghu Rai, Pablo Bartholomew, Amit Pasricha, Swapan Parekh, Vicky Roy, Raj Lalwani and such for the first time. Amazed at what he had just witnessed, he decided to take up photography seriously.

Since then, Abhinav has travelled to more than 15 cities, photographed thousands of people and performed several roles in the visual arts industry.

He has has studied film-direction from LV Prasad Academy of Film and Television, Chennai and has also worked in AIESEC (a not-for-profit youth organisation) for 3 years.

Besides some commercial projects, a lot of what he does today is still personal and documentary work. He also delves into portraiture for a good amount of his time at home.
